COMPANY PROFILE - SAINT GEORGE SHOOTS THE DRAGON The film production company Saint George shoots the Dragon was founded in December 2006 through merger of the four most important film production companies in and around Serbia: ZILLION FILM, YODI, MASLACHAK/DELIRIUM and OSKAR FILM (Banjaluka). The goal of this merger is filming the most important cultural and national project in the past decades – the film “Saint George and the Dragon”, written by Dušan Kovačević and directed by Srđan Dragojević. In the past 15 years, these four joined film companies and authors (Dušan Kovačević, Srđan Dragojević, Lazar Ristovski, Zoran Cvijanović, Biljana Prvanović, Milko Josifov and Vladimir Ljevar) have made films that account for more than 90 percent of the total number of domestic film viewers and more than 80 percent of all the awards at world festivals (The White Suit 1999., Dudes 2001., Loving Glances 2003., When I Grow Up I'm Gonna Be a Kangaroo 2004, Falling in the Paradise 2004., Midwinter Night’s Dream 2004., We Are Not Angels 2 2005., View From The Eiffel Tower 2005., The Border Post 2006., Tomorrow Morning 2006., A3-Rock’n’roll Strikes Back 2006…) One of these film companies is OSKAR FILM from Banjaluka, thus representing the first co-production between Republic of Serbia and Serb Republic. The film company Saint George and the Dragon has been founded with the intention of making a significant contribution to restoring Serbian cinematography’s leading position it held during past decades in this part of Europe.
